iCentra Partners with VibeCode Africa and NITDA to Advance Africa’s AI Future

iCentra proudly partnered with VibeCode Africa, National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and other stakeholders at the recently concluded VibeCode Africa Abuja event, a landmark initiative redefining how Africa approaches artificial intelligence, innovation, and digital capability building.

VibeCode Africa is globally recognized as the world’s first AI hackathon built specifically to solve Africa’s problems. Designed as an inclusive and action‑oriented platform, the initiative brings together a powerful mix of absolute beginners, experienced AI experts, developers, entrepreneurs, creatives, professionals, and changemakers, all united by one urgent mission: leveraging AI to address real, local, and continental challenges.

At the heart of this year’s VibeCode Africa event was the belief that Africa’s transformation will not be driven by technology alone, but by people equipped with the right skills, mindset, and execution capability. Participants were exposed to the tools and technologies reshaping industries globally, while also being challenged to think critically about how these tools can be applied responsibly and effectively within African contexts. Through hands‑on collaboration with expert mentors, attendees worked on real‑world solutions, gaining not just knowledge but practical experience that positions them to create value, drive innovation, and unlock new economic opportunities through AI.

As part of iCentra’s contribution to this transformative initiative, the CEO Mr. Taopheek Babayeju made a guest appearance, to support the convener Ms Lola Adey and also interacted with the participants. The session emphasized that sustainable digital transformation requires more than rapid technology deployment, it requires structure, leadership, accountability, and a clear understanding of risk, ethics, and long‑term value creation.

VibeCode Africa represents more than a hackathon; it is a movement. A movement that empowers builders, dreamers, and doers to collaborate, experiment, and shape what’s next for Africa’s digital future. iCentra remains committed to playing an active role in initiatives like this, where transformation is not just discussed, but deliberately designed and sustainably delivered.
