In continuation of the IWD, leading female voices in Enterprise PMO and Project Leadership converged at iCentra’s March edition of the Transform Webinar Series, titled “The Strategic PMO as a Value Management Office.”
Held on March 26th, 2026, the session explored how organizations can reposition the Project Management Office (PMO) from a traditional delivery support function into a strategic enterprise capability that drives value, alignment, and sustained performance.
As organizations continue to invest in strategy and transformation initiatives, a recurring challenge remains: translating ambition into measurable outcomes. This session addressed that gap by examining how governance, alignment, and value realization can be embedded into execution through a redefined PMO.
Distinguished Speakers
The high-impact session featured expert perspectives from:
Christine DeVol, Founder and CEO, Willow Path Advisory Group.
Bisi Toro‑Popoola is the Deputy Director and Group Head of the EPMO at the Central Bank of Nigeria
Nozibele Ntshokotsha: Senior Manager: Capital Execution at Rand Water and a Non‑Executive Director at PMI South Africa
The conversation was skillfully moderated by Taopheek Babayeju, the CEO of iCentra, who guided the discussion across critical themes including governance-led execution, portfolio alignment, and enterprise value realization.
Some Key Insights from the Speakers:
Bisi Toro-Popoola shared that Strategy value is not the problem, but the execution-value disconnect is. She went ahead to say that many organizations do not suffer from a lack of strategy; they suffer from weak translation of strategy into measurable value.
Christine DeVol also stated that Benefit realization is where many organizations fail; she emphasized that Project closure is not project success. If no one tracks the benefits, then the value story is incomplete.
Nozibele Ntshokotsha also mentioned that PMOs need to speak business value, not just PM language; she further stated that Executives are not waiting for 100-page reports. They want clarity, tradeoffs, risk visibility, and measurable value.
What Attendees Learned
Participants gained practical and strategic insights on:
• The limitations of traditional PMO models in complex enterprises
• The distinction between project governance and portfolio governance
• How to reposition the PMO as a Value Management Office
• Why benefits realization must become a core performance metric
• The role of leadership alignment as execution infrastructure
• How governance enables organizations to move from activity to measurable outcomes
Driving the Shift: From Delivery to Value
A central message from the session was clear: Organizations do not struggle because they lack strategy; they struggle because they lack the structures that translate strategy into value.
The Strategic PMO represents a fundamental shift:
• From project tracking → to value enablement
• From reporting activity → to delivering outcomes
