The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has successfully concluded its most recent ISO 27001 surveillance audit, achieving yet another milestone in its journey toward institutionalizing global best practices in information security. The audit was completed without any major or minor non-conformities, further reinforcing FIRS’s unwavering commitment to security, transparency, and operational excellence.
This surveillance audit is part of the agency’s continued compliance with the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 standard for Information Security Management Systems (ISMS). FIRS initially attained certification to the ISO/IEC 27001:2013 standard in 2021, with strategic guidance from iCentra, a global technology and business solutions company. In 2024, the agency successfully transitioned to the updated 2022 version of the standard and has since completed three consecutive audits with remarkable outcomes.
