Business Development Executive – Consulting BU

As a Business Development Executive, you will be responsible for driving business growth by acquiring clients, nurturing and expanding business relationships while ensuring delivery of services.

Job Description:

  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the consulting practice, including lead generation, client prospecting, and proposal development. Build and maintain relationships with potential clients, understanding their needs and challenges, and proposing tailored solutions to drive revenue growth.
  • Consulting Practice Expertise: Develop a deep understanding of the consulting practice’s offerings, including business strategy, technology solutions, project management methodologies, and learning programs. Articulate the value proposition to clients and prospects, demonstrating how the practice can address their business needs and objectives.
  • Client Engagement and Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, managing relationships and ensuring high satisfaction levels. Conduct regular meetings and reviews to understand client objectives, provide strategic guidance, and address any concerns or issues.
  • Project Management Support: Provide support in project management activities, including scoping, planning, and monitoring of consulting projects. Collaborate with project teams to ensure successful project delivery, meeting client expectations, timelines, and budgetary constraints.
  • Learning Programs Promotion: Promote learning programs offered by the consulting practice to clients and prospects, highlighting their value in enhancing employee skills, driving organizational growth, and achieving business objectives.
  • Market Research and Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify industry trends, competitive landscape, and client needs. Use insights to develop targeted business development strategies and marketing initiatives.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including consultants, subject matter experts, and marketing teams, to align business development efforts with practice goals and objectives. Foster a culture of teamwork and collaboration to achieve collective success.


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience (3 – 5 years) in business development roles, preferably within a consulting or professional services environment.
  • Strong understanding of business strategy, technology solutions, project management methodologies, and learning programs.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport and credibility with clients at all levels.
  • Project management experience, with knowledge of project management tools and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of learning and development principles and practices, with experience in promoting learning programs to clients.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to identify client needs, develop innovative solutions, and drive business growth.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, demonstrating initiative, creativity, and flexibility.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Revenue Generation: Achieve sales targets and quotas for new business acquisition and client retention.
  • Client Satisfaction: Maintain high client satisfaction scores through regular feedback surveys and reviews.
  • Project Delivery Success: Monitor project delivery metrics, including client satisfaction, project profitability, and on-time delivery.
  • Learning Program Adoption: Track the adoption and utilization of learning programs by clients, measuring participation rates and feedback.
  • Market Share Growth: Measure the growth of the consulting practice’s market share through successful business development efforts.
  • Pipeline Management: Manage and track the sales pipeline, including lead generation, opportunity identification, and proposal submission.
  • Team Collaboration: Evaluate collaboration and teamwork among internal stakeholders, promoting effective communication and coordination.
  • Professional Development: Invest in continuous learning and professional development to stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
